Witch Moon Page 9

Show me the possible solution to my problem

Read the Runes and meditate on their meaning.

Thank the Sisters for Their assistance. It is most wise to leave an offering. A good one. Close circle.

  Affirmations and Their Power

When I was first learning my craft, one of my assignments was to write three affirmations designed to bring about a needed change and to use them for thirty days and see what my results would be.

The idea of affirmations is that your body and mind believe what you tell them. Saying things out loud or writing them down makes them real. It shifts the energy of your need from a thought form into something more "real." Into words, sounds, or letters on paper, I think it's important to both say the affirmations aloud and write them down.

Affirmations should always be written as if they are already true. You don't say. "I will eat healthy." You say, "I eat healthy." See the difference? Saying you will leaves it as something that still doesn't exist but will one day. Saying you do so now is making it real now, in the present. Of course the next step is to do it, but that comes much more easily with the aid of affirmations, which are one of the most basic forms of magick.

Here are some examples of affirmations I wrote and used with great success. The key is to keep them short and easy to remember and to make the point very succinct and clear. You can also use numerology and rhythm to help add power to the affirmations as shown in example #1.

  Affirmation for More Energy

I have the energy of fire.

I go and go and never tire.

I focus and direct its flow.

So all my projects grow and glow!

*Note: Written 8 syllables to a line, 8 being a realm of force on the Tree of Life, Strength in Tarot, and power in numerology. Written to a pentameter that reflects the beat of a strong heart. (Emphasis on every other syllable.)

  Affirmation for Health

  I am the keeper

  Of sacred space.

  Temple of the Goddess within

My blood, my bones, my skin

  Affirmation for Inspiration

  I relax and I open,

  And the words come.

I drink from the Well of the Muses,

  And the words come.

I breathe in the Air of the Great Ones,

  And the words come.

I link with Souls of the Masters,

  And the words come.

I honor the Source of the Scriveners,

  And the words come.

  I give thanks to Spirit,

For the words that always come.

  Repeat the above lines again.

  A Job-Finding Stone

  Supplies:

  • Choose the perfect stone. (I used a tiny, round bright green malachite)

  • Rose Oil

  Timing:

  • Wednesday.

  • Use Mercury and Virgo correspondences if possible.

  • Waxing moon.

  Ritual:

Cast Circle, open Quarters, invoke Brigid. Holding the stone in

your hand, meditate and empower it with its purpose.

"_____ will find the perfect job!" (We used the name of the person, the type of job they wanted—teaching—and a time deadline—"for the upcoming Fall semester." Specifics help!

After spending some time that way, hold the stone upward to the Goddess, asking her aid. Then carry it to each of the Quarters, asking for its aid and blessings. Carry the stone to the center and move it through your center flame or needfire to add to its empowerment. Holding the stone, stare into the flames and state the purpose over and over until the flames die away. Blow your wish into the stone.

Draw an Earth Invoking Pentagram on the stone in the rose oil. (First line drawn is from the topmost point to the lower left leg. Repeat the first line drawn at the end.)

Finish the spell by drawing an equal-armed cross on its face to seal it.

Take up the circle. Carry the stone with you or have the person for whom you did the work carry it with them to all job interviews.

(In our case, the perfect job–the very one our subject most wanted—manifested within 21 days.)

  Hecate's Powder:

  A Repellent for Sudden Attacks

  Purpose:

If you feel at risk for any reason, make this powder ahead of time and carry it with you in your purse or in a small bag in your pocket where you can grab a pinch out instantly.

  Timing:

This is best made on a Saturday during the hour of Mars or a Tuesday in the hour of Saturn or during a lunar eclipse. The moon should be waning.

  Instructions:

Use a base of black talcum powder

Add: iron filings, black horsehair, Morning Glory vines, (all associated with Saturn for banishing and control).

Add: chili powder, Dragon's Blood, Thistle (all associated with Mars for strength and power.)

Add: Angelica, Clover, Vervain (for protection)

  As you mix, sa
y:

  By the might of Hecate,

  Evil doer, stay away!

  Repeat as you work.

If approached by someone who means you harm, grab a pinch and blow it at them, say the rhyme, and be on your way.

  Health and Weight Management

  This program has three parts:

  • Two Sets Affirmations

  • Waxing Moon Spell

  • Waning Moon Spell

  1. Every day during the Waxing Moon (from noon to full) practice this affirmation. Say it upon rising and anytime you think of it during the day, especially if you feel yourself slipping.

I grow more healthy every day.

My will gains strength in every way.

  I am in complete control

Of my body, mind, and soul!

  Energy!

  2. Every day during the Waning Moon (from the night after full to the night before the New Moon) practice this affirmation in the same way.

  Burn away!

  Melt away!

  Toxins, fats, and habits sad!

  I release!

  I set yon free!

  Poisons, ill health, feeling bad!

  Waxing Moon Spellwork

  Timing:

The first Sunday after the New Moon, hour of the Sun.

  Supplies:

  • A double action candle of red and green or triple action of red, green, and white.

  • Thyme. Cane Sugar. Nutmeg (for health)

  • Lavender, Fern (longevity)

  • Alfalfa (anti-hunger)

  • Cinnamon. Ginger (success)

  • Bay. Tea (for strength.)

  Instructions:

Red is for power and energy, green for health and the physical self. Load the candle with the mixed herbs, which you have first charged and empowered with their magickal tasks.

Note: To load a candle, bore holes into it and stuff the herbal mixture into the hole(s).

We use ten herbs because ten is the number that represents physical manifestation on the Kabbala or Tree of Life. It's the realm of the physical of the Earth and our bodies. Each day from the New Moon to the Full Moon, light the loaded candle and repeal the Waxing Moon chant ten times. Meditate on pulling in the strength, will power, good health, healthy habits you need.

  Waning Moon Spellwork

  Timing:

Saturday, in the hour of Saturn, just prior to the Dark Moon.

  Supplies:

  • A double action candle of black and white

  • Rosemary, Thyme, Mint

  Instructions:

We use three herbs here to harness the power of three. Three represents the realm of the mother, Binah, on the Kabbala or Tree of life, whose powers have been gained by loss. It's the realm of constriction, control, and direction.

Again, mix and empower the herbs, then load the candle. Then, every day from the day after the Full Moon to the Dark Moon, light your loaded candle and repeat your Waning Moon chant nine times, for the power of three times three. Nine is also the realm of final obstacles that must be removed before manifestation can take place. Yesod on the Tree of Life.

Meditate on burning away bad and unhealthy habits. Just before you extinguish the candle, say:

By the power of three times three,

All bad habits flee from me!

Note: Like every other form of magick, this program will not work if you are not accompanying it by doing everything possible in the mundane realms to make it work. If you work in opposition to the spell, then you negate it, telling the Universe you don't really want it and canceling its action. So, doing the above work and then sitting on the sofa and eating ten brownies will not be effective! It can and will help you hold onto and strengthen your will power, stick to your plan, increase your metabolism and energy, and inspire you to stay on track.

Another Way to Honor the 4 Sacred Hours

If writing and memorizing are not your cup of tea, try a silent method. A simple moment of silence honoring the energies associated with each of these times of day will energize and empower you!

At Dawn, stand outside and face the East. Feel the breeze, smell the air, become one with the energy of Dawn. Everything new, every thought, every whisper. This is the energy of Air.

At Noon, stand outside and face the South. Feel the sun, the warmth of it on your skin, the heat of your own body, the pounding of your heart. Everything active, forceful, passionate, and fiery. This is the energy of Fire.

At Sunset, stand outside and face West. Feel the moisture in the air, the dampness on your skin, the fluids in your body. Feel emotion, empathy, healing and transformation. This is the energy of Water.

At Midnight (or before bed) go outside and face North. Feel the Firmness of the earth beneath your feet, the solidncss of your own body, the bones that support it. Feel its permanence-it is the steadfast, solid, foundation of all life here. It is all that is physical and manifest. This is the energy of Earth.
